Morning Assembly

Islamic outlook is focused in the Daily Morning Assembly. Students recite selected verses from the Holy Quran with their translation in Urdu. The Islamiat teacher/Principal delivers a simple talk related to the religion and concludes with an appropriate prayer in Urdu/Arabic. In the end, students sing the National Anthem collectively. Selected students read important news items in Urdu, English, and sayings of Quaid-i-Azam.

On every Monday, personal inspection is held to select the smartest turned-out girl/boy student. This is followed by hoisting of the national flag and singing the National Anthem.

Attendance and Leave

Parents should understand that absence has a very unsettling effect on a student’s work, so they are earnestly requested not to apply for leave if they can avoid it. Leave of absence must be obtained before a student absents herself/himself, except in case of sudden illness. All applications for leave addressed to the Principal must be signed or attested by the parents or guardian.

Parents are advised to ensure that their children or wards observe punctuality in daily attendance and on other occasions. Students who come late for Morning Assembly are likely to be punished and also fined Rs. 5.00 per day. Habitual latecomers are liable to be sent back home. Parents are informed by the Principal if a child is late or absent without intimation three or more times in a week. A student who is absent or leaves the school without permission will be fined Rs. 5.00 per day.

A medical certificate should invariably accompany a leave application under the following circumstances:

  • Illness lasting four days or more,
  • Immediately before or after summer, spring, and winter vacations
  • On test/examination days.

Primary/Junior School

The school provides a “Caring Education Environment” for children of Play Group, Nursery, Prep, and Grade I. All students are taught the basic skills with a strong emphasis on creative writing and reading skills. The small class size permits a close student-teacher relationship and flexible instruction. A close contact between the teachers and parents is also welcomed. The junior program is based upon the scientific method developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, a physician and psychologist. The objectives of this method are:

  • To normalize the child by providing an environment that trains all his/her senses and improves his/her perception.
  • To help and bring forward the hidden qualities of the child’s personality.
  • To help and prepare the child to live a confident and independent life even as a pupil. The environment is created with due care

Instead of the mushrooms growth of school, City Cadre School (CSS) has its own identity and Goodwill in the society for its well-planned syllabus and scheduled tests and examination. It consists on preschool and formal School with grade 1 to metric as well.
Preschool start with Montessori (Play Group) Nursery and Prep. There is a proper hierarchy of subordinate and workers.

School has three major portions knowns as wing, Junior Wing, Girls Wing and Boye Wing. Junior Wing in the most happening wing as compare to rest of the other Wings. This wing in the great combination of Fun and studies. Junior Wing consists of 25 sections with the 30 devoted, hardworking and sincere teachers who are working under the supervision of respective senior teacher of each grade. Special emphasise is given to Urdu and English handwriting of the students. A maid is all day long is there to facilitate and assist the students for their daily needs. Early Departures

The practice of removing students from school for vacations or early leave for holidays is strongly discouraged. If, due to an emergency, it is necessary to remove a student for leave, parents should contact the Principal to justify the need and make arrangements for the student’s studies during the leave period with the teacher before departure. Make-up work will be at the discretion of the teacher, and the responsibility for completing it rests on the student.

Uniform

Khaki uniform is worn by all students. The uniform is available at the school shop, and a sample is also displayed in the school office. The details of uniform items are as follows:

Academics

The objective of the City Cadre School is to provide a sound and broad-based academic education for all its students. To facilitate this, we make the learning process more students centered. We want our students to be active participants in their own education, not just passive receivers of instructions.

The School strives to maintain high academic and discipline standards by providing regular systematic work, and through curricular activities and a close liaison between teacher and pupils. The course at Matriculation is the same as prescribed by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore. The School Offers Science Courses at the matriculation level.

Examination/Test

At the end of each term a Terminal Examination is held and its results and reports are discussed with the parents in “Teachers Parents Meeting”. Besides that. Monthly Assessment Tests are also held each month and at the end of each test, reports are discussed with the parents in “Teachers Parents Meeting”.

“Parent Teacher Meetings” are held to discuss problems of children with their parents after each Terminal Examination and Assessment test.

Computer Studies

Due to the demand and facet of the modern-day society, computer studies are now offered as a part of the regular timetable in our school. City Cadet School is committed to the task of keeping pace with the rapidly changing technology in this sector. As such we are also teaching computer sciences as a subject from Grade 2 to Grade 10.

Computer R / Audio / Visual Lab:
A well equipped Computer Room and Audio Visual Lab is available in the school to impart Computer Educational/Recreational program to students of all classes, so that they could use this technical knowledge in day to day life. The school tries to drive maximum benefit from these facilities and students get ample opportunities to listen and view different programs.

Islamic Teaching / Aadab-E-Zindgi

Teaching of Islamiat receives special attention. A graded curriculum is followed with a view of cultivating Islamic values to tone up the total personality of the individual student with Aadab-e- Zindgi and Asswa-e-Husna.

Militry and Physical Training

Physical and basic military training is compulsory for all the students. Games facilities are also available for all students. Ex-Army men PTI are deputed for physical training and sports.

Home Work

Home work is considered an essential part of CCS academic program. High scholarship can be maintained by the satisfactory completion of homework. Teachers are expected to assign homework on regular basis, though this will vary according to the subject, grade level, and needs of students. Home work is supposed to be purposeful. At the elementary level it is primarily signed to provide practice and reinforcement for lesson introduced in class. Efforts are made by the Principal, Coordinator, Head Mistress and faculty to ensure that of homework assigned is not excessive Parents who have concerns about the amount of home work assigned are encouraged to contact their children’s teachers.

Medical Service

A highly qualified doctor has been employed to carry out monthly detailed medical examination of all the students. The school provides first aid to students during school hours. The school informs parents on telephone if it feels that the child needs specialist’s treatment.

School Bus / Van

At the moment school does not have its own transport. The school van system provides transportation to and from the school for students in near areas. All parents interested in availing the school van system are required to fill in a transport form and submit in the office. Transportation charges are to be paid directly to the van driver.

Service / Tuck shop / Book shop

The “Tuck Shop” opens during school hours. Snacks such as pop corn, potato chips, burgers, chat, biscuits, peanuts, Ice-cream, juices and cold drinks are available. Stationery Items including books & exercise books are also available in the school Tuck Shop/Book Shop on cheaper rates which are fixed by the canteen committee.

Library

The school has its own library for students with large number of books on various subjects of interest. Besides books, the school has numbers of tapes, video films and computer software which are utilized as part of the educational programme.

School Magazine

A Magazine is published every year to highlight the educational and co-curricular activities of the school.

Co and Extra Curricular Activities

Good education must encompass more than the standard academic subjects, and our school provides a wide range of co-curricular activities as a part of the time table suited to the ages of students.

Discipline Code

Freedom does not exist without responsibility. The discipline program is intended to ensure that everyone at school shares the responsibility of providing a sound academic environment to learn. Students will be given the appointments like Grade seniors/Head boys/girls of respective Houses, basing on their overall performance in the school. It will be a step towards inculcating sense of responsibility and quality of leadership in them.
All school personnel are responsible to maintain control and proper conduct of the students while under the supervision of the school. The ultimate goals for students are self discipline and responsibility for one’s action:-

  • Students are required to attend school punctually, neatly dressed in the school uniform of the season.
  • All students and staff are required to be present at the morning assembly.
  • All students must come with necessary books, exercise books, etc., required for daily work. Homework must be done daily. No excuse in this respect will be entertained except illness.
  • Students will not be allowed to leave the school premises during school hours without the permission of the Principal.
  • Parents/Guardians and others are not allowed to see any student or teacher in class during school hours without the Principal’s permission.
  • All students must read the notice board daily.
  • Students are not supposed to roam aimlessly near the Principal’s office unless required.
  • Students are strictly warned not to throw rubbish, old bits of paper, and fruit skins in the compound. Dust bins are placed at all convenient places for this purpose.
  • Every staff member has the right to check students for violating school rules.
  • Students will have to make good any loss or damage to school property.
  • In the school premises, the Principal’s authority is absolute. She has the power to impose a fine or suitable punishment for breach of school discipline or disorderly behavior.

Expectations from Students

  • Show respect and courtesy to all.
  • Respect school property and the property of other students.
  • Use good taste in grooming.
  • Attend classes regularly and reach school on time.
  • Be prepared for class academically.
  • Bring required materials to class (e.g., textbooks, notebooks, pencil/pen, etc.).
  • Take legitimate complaints, misunderstandings, dissatisfactions, and compliments to the appropriate school authority.
  • Chewing gum is not permitted.

Unacceptable Behaviour

While it is not possible to anticipate all forms of unacceptable behavior, the following will not be tolerated:-

  • Fighting
  • Bad language
  • Creating disturbances.
  • Denying other the right to school services.
  • Harming others.
  • Stealing.
  • Loud or boisterous conduct in school.
  • Cheating.

Care of School Property

CCS needs the assistance of its students to ensure that the school is properly maintained, Destruction or careless use of school property will be subjected to immediate school discipline and fine.

CCS Students are strongly for bidden to bring valuable personal belongings / wear ornaments in school as it is not responsible for lost property.

Complaints and Communications

The school community is composed of parents, students teachers and administrators working together. Parents may have complaints from time to time as regard to general school policies or to the work or action of individual teachers. The proper order or communication regarding complaints is to discuss the problem with Principal. Many times problems can be worked out just by informing the teacher of the particular concern. If a parent feels that satisfactory resolution has not been obtained after holding discussion with the teacher he/she then has the right to go to the Principal.
The school will encourage parent/teachers contact on prescribe day that is last Saturday of each month.

Violations of Rules

Students found violating the rules of conduct shall be subjected to student referral. The stages of referral include:-

  1. Student notification.
  2. Parent notification.
  3. Parent/teacher/student meeting.
  4. Parent/teacher/Principal/Commandant meeting.

The intent of the referral stage is to bring about a positive modification of the student’s behaviour or if it is judged by the Principal that the referral process is not appropriate in view of a serious violation, any one or more of the following penalties will be applied;-

  1. Written warning.
  2. Suspension for a period of time.
  3. Expulsion from school.

The Commandant has final authority for all recommendations for expulsion.

School Life

There is a proper and disciplined method for break (Recess). Every class comes out in queue with the teacher to buy food and approaches class for a comfortable refreshment.

The students are physically trained to keep them active. They attend the Drill/PT classes twice a week with a trained PTI (Physical Training Instructor). Students are receiving quality education within an economical fee package.

School is very much concerned about the security of its students so there is a full-fledge procedure for off time. All grades assemble in the ground in the custody of their respective teachers. Security Guard not only guards the gates but also keeps an eye on students and on the people, parents and others as well. Admin and PTI maintain the discipline and control the chaos. The Principal is also on her toes to meet the parents and answer the queries of visitors. With all security measures, CCTV Cameras are also installed to record all the activities.

Child Security

Parents are issued with a school Security ID card for their children at the tine of admission. School Chowkidar / Gatekeeper has been instructed to hand over the junior child/children only to the individual who produces the Security ID card. This has been done for the safety of your child. Please ensure its compliance.

After School Supervision

The supervision of a child is provided for 30 minutes after closing of the school. However, the school Chowkidar and Aaya are on duty after school closing time but no risk / responsibilities can be taken after school time.

Visitors

Parents/Guardians are not allowed to see any student or teacher during school hours in the class. They can see their children and teachers with the permission of the Principal. The summer Visiting Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Winter visiting Hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Complaints concerning their children if any should be made directly to the Coordinator, Admin Officer or Principal and not to the class teacher.

Annual Parent Day

Parent’s day is an annual feature of CCS. The function is used to present awards, stage plays, and musical interludes, etc. All students are encouraged to participate. It is an over all student’s performance helped by teachers. Parents are cordially invited.

Funfair / Art Exhibition

Fun fair is held in March every year. All classes put up stalls, display articles and provide opportunities for entertainment. The fun fair is totally organized, managed and run by the students under supervision of their respective class teachers.
